The vast exhibition spaces were meticulously curated, spotlighting everything from iconic furniture designers to emerging talents who dare to challenge conventional aesthetics. One of the aspects that stood out was the emphasis on sustainable practices – designers are not only innovating in form and function but also redefining materials in a way that speaks to environmental stewardship.

The trend themes this year were particularly compelling. Numerous installations celebrated the fusion of technology and traditional craftsmanship. The fair announced today that the fair will be moved from April (its usual date) due to the latest Covid-19 wave.

The 60th edition of Salone del Mobile, will now be held at the Fiera Milano fairground in early June 2022. It will focus on sustainability as a theme.

The fair is famous for showcasing the latest luxury furnishings, modern design and stylish interiors from the major names and smaller independent exhibitors too.

The fair was cancelled in 2020 and postponed to September in 2021 due to safety concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic. This year once again has seen the date changed.

By moving the fair to the summer, Salone del Mobile hopes to attract more international attendees.

The decision to move the date of the fair will undoubtedly affect many exhibitors and visitors who will have already booked travel, accommodation and scheduled their calendars around this important event.

Let’s hope next year it will return to its normal place in the calendar. In the mean time we look forward to this year’s show, albeit a little later than we had hoped.

The shows tentacles spread further than ever from the exhibition halls at the heart of iSalone, and many previews are already to be found around the myriad showrooms of Milan.

This year marks the 58th edition of the show which runs between the 9th and the 14th April. It was founded in 1961 to promote Italian furniture and rapidly went from strength to strength, to become the huge industry attraction it is today.

It features a number of world famous design events and exhibitions including Salone Del Mobile, the annual worldwide furniture fair and Fuorisalone – which takes place across Milan.

It’s an opportunity for the industry to come together to show, discuss and be inspired by the latest designs.

This year there are a number of premium fashion brands also joining the party, with names such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Marni.

Fashion houses launching homewares is a trend that we have seen in recent years, and this year sees even more luxury brands showing what they have to offer with their own premium furnishings.
