Milan’s Salone del Mobile 2022, the most important furniture fair on the calendar, has confirmed that its 60th-anniversary edition will be postponed until 7 to 12 June. This is in order “to ensure a strong presence of foreign exhibitors and professionals”.
The fair announced today that the fair will be moved from April (its usual date) due to the latest Covid-19 wave.
The 60th edition of Salone del Mobile, will now be held at the Fiera Milano fairground in early June 2022. It will focus on sustainability as a theme.
The fair is famous for showcasing the latest luxury furnishings, modern design and stylish interiors from the major names and smaller independent exhibitors too.
The fair was cancelled in 2020 and postponed to September in 2021 due to safety concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic. This year once again has seen the date changed.
By moving the fair to the summer, Salone del Mobile hopes to attract more international attendees.
The decision to move the date of the fair will undoubtedly affect many exhibitors and visitors who will have already booked travel, accommodation and scheduled their calendars around this important event.
Let’s hope next year it will return to its normal place in the calendar. In the mean time we look forward to this year’s show, albeit a little later than we had hoped.
