|This year, Italy’s main design showcase will take place in September, following the cancelation of Milan’s Salone del Mobile back in April.|
Milano Re-Design City, will run from 28 September to 10 October 2020, and many top designer furniture brands will be represented there.
The name of the event, Milano Re-Design City, underlines the driving force of design in the city in this phase of rebirth following the lockdown.
After a spring and summer of online only launches, the event promises to be a great opportunity for the industry to get together again and share ideas.
Organised by Interni magazine, it’s all part of Designer’s Week 2020. It is designed to create a network of appointments, presentations, conferences, real and virtual debates that will take place across the showrooms and galleries of Milan.
With this event, Interni “reignites the creative spirit of Milan and promotes a program of communication that spreads and amplifies projects, opinions, stories, products, ideas and the people who generate them”.
It is an opportunity to relaunch the city of Milan after a tough year, so that furniture designers and manufacturers have the chance to present all their new ideas that were meant to be introduced earlier this year.
The event will have a particular focus on sustainability and the circular economy. The city is all set to come back to life with an urban event dedicated to design, culture and innovation.
The city of Milan is currently looking for creative ideas to promote the event. Until the end of July, companies and associations as well as public and private entities may present proposals for projects and initiatives across Milan. These will focus on the development of the culture of design and thought, as well as the re-design of public spaces and new urban mobility.
Those who will become part of the “Milano Design City” program will be able to enjoy the patronage of the Municipality of Milan as well as be an integral part of the communication and promotion activities of the event.
We hope to see you there!
